DealHunt Privacy Policy

DealHunt (the "App") is a deal-tracking application that surfaces current sales and discounts from Canadian retailers and lets you monitor prices for products you choose. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

1. Information the App Handles

• Device identifier. The App generates a random, non-personally-identifiable device ID used to keep your tracked items separate from other users'. It does not identify you.
• Tracked items. The product titles, prices, and links you choose to track are stored so the App can check prices over time and notify you of price drops.
• Notification preferences. The App uses your device's local notifications to alert you about price drops. This permission is requested from you and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
• Usage data. Anonymous, aggregate statistics about which deals are viewed may be collected to improve the App. This data cannot be used to identify you.

2. How Information Is Used

• To display current deals and promotions.
• To monitor prices of products you track and send you local notifications when prices change.
• To maintain and improve the reliability and features of the App.

3. Personal Information

The App does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, postal address, phone number, or payment information. It does not access your contacts, photos, location, or browsing history. No personal information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Links to Retailers and Affiliate Links

Deal links open the websites of third-party retailers (such as Amazon, Best Buy, Canadian Tire, and others). Some links may use affiliate-tracking parameters. Retailers are independent companies with their own privacy policies and data practices; this Privacy Policy does not apply to their websites or services.

5. Data Storage and Security

Tracked items and the associated device identifier are stored on our servers. We take reasonable measures to protect this data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. You can stop tracking any item at any time, and data for items you stop tracking is removed.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Tracked-item records are retained while you are actively tracking them. If you delete the App, no further tracking occurs; records tied to your device identifier are removed when no longer referenced.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent changes. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
